Kim Glass has been with USA Volleyball since May 2007. She also has played in numerous international volleyball events and was a key member of the U.S. Olympic team during the 2008 Olympic Games.
During the Olympics, Kim averaged 2.13 points in helping the U.S. to a silver medal. She was the youngest player on the USA roster and started 26 of a possible 33 sets and entered a total of 30 sets during the event. Kim tallied a team-high 20 points with 15 kills, three blocks and two aces in a five-set victory over host China to secure a spot for the U.S. in the Olympic quarterfinals.
At the University of Arizona, Kim was a three-time American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American and four-time All-Pac-10 pick. She is Arizona’s career leader in kills with 2,151 and ranks third all-time in the Pac-10 in the same category. For her college career, Kim had double-digit kills in 105 of her 115 matches played, along with 20 or more kills 54 times en route to a school-record 5.27 kills per game. She holds the Arizona school record with 162 aces and is third in career digs with 1,158. Glass provided 77 block solos, which ranks eighth all-time for the Wildcats. As a senior in 2005, Glass was selected AVCA First Team All-American in leading Arizona to a fourth seed in the NCAA Tournament. She was tabbed AVCA Second Team All-America and AVCA National Freshman of the Year in 2002. Glass was Third Team All-American as a sophomore.
Kim has also played for Corozal in Puerto Rico’s Super League. She led the league in kills during the regular season and led her team to the tournament semifinals. She joined Fenerbahçe Women's Volleyball Team in 2007 with her US national teammate Therese Crawford. |
